My client, a growing Bid Consultancy are currently seeking a Bid Manager to join their team in Sheffield. This role will be home based until Q2 2021 when you will then be required to work in the Sheffield office full time. Some flexible working may be an option.

About the role

Working with a variety of different clients, you will be responsible for coordinating the bid programme activities and outputs, leading bid governance, coordinating commercial and pricing strategy, managing a team of bid writers during the writing process, work closely with SME’s to develop appropriate bid outputs, lead and support market analysis for clients, deliver completed written proposal responses, review written material and lead solution development workshops. You will also be required to undertake ad-hoc research and bid writing activities. For the right individual, other duties could include supporting with new business development, assisting in pitch preparation and representing the business as a senior level.

About you

The successful candidate will have 5+ years bidding experience, and will have worked within Utilities, Rail, Highways, Renewables, Power, Telecoms, Construction, Nuclear or Manufacturing. You must be confident working in a high pressured, fast paced environment on large value tenders between £10mil - £300mil. You will have a proven track record of bid management, the ability to understand technical details when working with Subject Matter Experts, strong communication skills, good people management skills, be comfortable interacting with clients at a senior level, have strong presentation skills and be confident on MS Office, as well as excellent writing skills. On occasions, you may be required to work from clients’ sites so you must be flexible to travel.
