Job Title: Head of Bid Management

Salary: £70,000 to £85,000 plus excellent package

Location: West Midlands

Company Background:

Our client is one of the UK's largest Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) contractors with a portfolio ranging from M&E LV, HV, Instrumentation, Street Lighting, Facilities Management through to Combined Heat and Power solutions.

Job Description:

In this role you will develop and drive a bid team that can undertake every aspect of large bids, valued in excess of £3m. You will oversee close collaboration between the bid team and key operations/functional personnel.

You will be responsible for managing the bid pipeline by facilitating effective qualification reviews and ensuring each bid is appropriately resourced, report on the bid pipeline and KPIs, liaise with Senior Managers to ensure necessary support is given when needed and ensure each bid goes through the correct governance and planning.

You will create and maintain a world-class bid function that delivers compelling and winning bids which articulate the company’s value proposition and provides a solid foundation for delivery success.

Essential requirements:

  • A broad understanding of current bid strategies.
  • Strong influencing, written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Knowledge of both Public & Private sector bidding.
  • Previous experience of managing bid teams on multi-million pound contracting projects.
  • Previous experience of managing technical people working on design and cost analysis.
  • Demonstrable ability to create written work and presentation material of the highest standard.

A motivated and driven self-starter with a positive attitude to overcoming obstacles and solving cross-business challenges. An organised individual with excellent time management and communication skills.
