Job Description

This is an opportunity for a Bid Manager who has previous experience leading and coordinating bid project teams. You will be heading up a team of bid coordinators and work alongside technical consultants in order to maximise the success of the bids. You will ideally have experience working with both public and private sector bids, however private sector is a new area for growth with the business. There will be occasional need to support bidding teams from other areas of the organisation, you will be based at either London or Birmingham but may be required to travel between sites with the possibility of some European travel when required.

This is a key role for an experienced Bid Manager to work with the Bid Team to ensure work winning proposals are produced. Within this role as a Bid manager, you will work closely as part of the broader bid team, managing the bid process and driving key objectives of the team forward.

You will be working with colleagues throughout the business, supporting all aspects of the bidding process; from prequalification to final proposals. You will be collaborating with your team, directors, consultants and technical experts throughout the organisation. Ideally you will have gained experience within a similar business environment, as a bid manager in, public, private sectors, or both.

Required Skills

5-8 years’ experience working within a consulting environment, focused on business development activities.

Minimum 3 years’ experience leading bid processes and managing bid teams.

Experience and ability to collate and produce large documents effectively and efficiently.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluent in English.

Ability to multitask and work to deadline.

Previous experience having worked within a Bid environment is essential.

Basic understanding of how bids are evaluated in a public-sector environment.

APMP accredited.

Desired Skills

Knowledge of another European language (French), this is an advantage but not a necessity.

Work experience or an interest in policy research, international development, or communications and marketing sectors would be an advantage.
