The V&A Museum in South Kensington is a global destination for art, design and performance. From unmissable exhibitions to extraordinary collections, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The museum is a Grade I Listed Building the heart of Kensington. Since being founded in 1852, the building has been transformed over the years and since 2001 the museum has embarked on a major £150m renovation programme.
As Technical Lead you will manage the delivery of M&E maintenance across the world-renowned museum. An interesting and diverse estate which will provide new challenges and no two days the same.
Maintenance is delivered via an outsourced model, so you will manage the performance of external M&E providers and contractors. Ensuring that KPI’s are reported and monitored according to the relevant contract requirements. Whilst also ensuring the organisation is statutory compliant regarding public health, fire and life safety systems.
You will be required to understand and consider the work of the wider museum when planning and implementing maintenance tasks or new projects, to communicate effectively and collaborate with those whose remits/workspaces are affected to act as an advocate for the Division and Museum.
To be considered for the role, you will be a qualified engineer with comprehensive understanding of mechanical & electrical systems. With a good working knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and excellent understanding of statutory compliance requirements.
