At a leading specialist construction and engineering business, we’re looking for a Structural Steelwork Project Manager to join our growing team. This is a key leadership role, responsible for delivering complex steelwork packages across major UK infrastructure and commercial projects.
You’ll be working in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment where precision, collaboration, and accountability are essential. From planning and procurement through to site execution and client handover, you’ll lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outcomes—safely, on time, and within budget.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the planning, coordination, and delivery of structural steelwork projects
- Managing site erection and welding teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Overseeing project budgets, schedules, and quality assurance processes
- Driving a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders
- Mentoring and developing your team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment
What You’ll Bring
- 10+ years’ experience in steel fabrication or construction project management
- Proven track record on Tier 1 projects, including rail and commercial builds
- Strong leadership, commercial acumen, and communication skills
- Familiarity with RAMS, ITPs, NDT, and British Standards
- Proficiency in MS Project and Microsoft Office
- Relevant certifications (e.g., MCIOB, NEBOSH, IOSH)
