London South Bank University (LSBU) is one of London’s largest and oldest universities with 31,000 students and c.2000 staff.   Since 1892, the University has been providing vocationally-relevant, accredited and professionally recognised education. The University has a large and diverse Central London estate portfolio with over 20 buildings totalling 120,000m2 in size. LSBU has invested heavily in the development of the University estate over the last decade and has ambitious development plans.

Our roots are in the real world. We offer industry-relevant degrees that mean students can become the best version of themselves, they gain skills for life and the experience employers are looking for. Our vision is to transform lives, communities, businesses and society through applied education and insight.  Our work has impact. It changes lives, builds communities, strengthens society and breaks down barriers to brilliance. And we will keep working until the playing field is level for everyone.

Reporting to the Group Director of Estates Development & Campus Services, the Strategic Estates Master Planner plays a crucial role in shaping and delivering the long-term vision for the Southwark estate, supporting the realisation of the Group Strategy. This role is responsible for spearheading the development and implementation of the masterplan, with a particular focus on transformative projects that leverage the opportunities presented by the wider Elephant and Castle regeneration. Key responsibilities include leading estate masterplanning initiatives, ensuring that estate development supports academic delivery and student experience, and leading feasibility and option appraisal for transformative capital projects.

The ideal candidate will bring experience of leading estate masterplanning exercises, together with a track record of leading feasibility and option appraisal for major capital projects.   The role demands a forward-thinking approach to estate transformation, balancing innovation with operational efficiency to create a sustainable, future-ready estate portfolio.
