Job Title: Senior HSEQ Manager

Role Overview:
As a Senior HSEQ Manager, you will be part of the management team, directly reporting to the Associate Director – Regional HSEQ. Your role involves managing HSEQ expectations and targets, providing professional advice on HSSE & Quality issues, conducting site safety audits, safety training, contributing to in-house publications, and researching safety and health developments.
Please note that this is a strong consulting role. HSE technical knowledge, delivery of information, report writing and client / stakeholder management is of paramount importance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement HSEQ Policies: Create, plan, and enforce HSSEQ policies and procedures for projects, ensuring compliance with Meinhardt standards and statutory requirements.
- Team Management and Development: Oversee the selection, development, and evaluation of team members to maintain operational efficiency and achieve individual KPIs.
- Emergency Preparedness: Design and implement emergency preparedness and contingency plans, including conducting periodic drills.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations for all types of incidents, recommend corrective actions, and prevent recurrence, ensuring strong reporting and investigation processes.
- Safety Training and Promotion: Facilitate safety trainings, conduct courses, and drive a safety culture through team-building activities and promotional campaigns.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and workmanship of all project activities, review materials for compliance, and perform audits and inspections to maintain high standards.
- Regulatory Compliance and Reporting: Liaise with governmental agencies on regulatory requirements, consistently implement health and safety standards, and provide monthly reports to the Associate Director – Regional HSEQ.
Requirements:
- Degree in Health, Safety, and Environment/Electrical or Mechanical Engineering/Civil/Construction/Structural.
- NEBOSH Qualification with a minimum of 15 years of experience in the related field.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team management skills.
