Accountabilities:
Contribute to aspects and/or phases of projects and under limited supervision, identify issues and/or non-conformances for the attention of senior staff. Perform and contribute to engineering duties and tasks which may involve researching, gathering, and correlating data and undertaking testing and/or analysis.
Contribute to the preparation of construction reports, contract, and schedules, ensuring alignment with company procedures and compliance with applicable standards; Attributes: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related technical discipline, combined with a demonstrable intermediate level of role knowledge.
Experience in a project or site engineering role and undertaking complex and high-volume business projects, and/or expert knowledge of construction and property development industries, and engineering project management principles, with an in-depth understanding of engineering and site management principles.
Written and verbal communication skills to facilitate decision making, influence and build relationships with key stakeholders, and the ability to communicate across all levels of the organisation. Competencies include Decision Making, Interpersonal Ability, Problem Solving and Analytical Thinking, Technology and Process, Verbal Communication, Written Communication. Key responsibilities:
• Manage the overall project delivery, including the design development process, consultant appointments, authority approvals, procurement, contract administration and project reporting. • Determine project management, technical services and external resources required for the project on an individual and team basis (e.g. additional services).
• Collaboratively work with the MEP manager / delivery team and/or external resources to ensure the successful delivery of the project in line with all stakeholders’ expectations communicating strategies to the team.
• Manage MEP sub-con, consult, team and project stakeholders to ensure effective completion of responsibilities including project brief/scope, fees, processing claims, deliverable and / or project variations etc.
• Display strong communication and negotiation skills to support the client/customer focus.
Requirements:
• Experienced candidate with experience in the end-to-end lifecycle of a large-scale project (Food Manufacturing factory Construction)
• At least 5 years’ experience in working on MEP design and MEP construction projects in the area of planning and conceptual building design with strong understanding of modern building materials, building services systems and construction principles in retail / high rise residential / project management / construction / site management.
• Strong communication skills with ability to interact with people across all levels.
• Knowledge of Construction and Property industries and an understanding of estimating, scheduling, field supervision, contracts administration, procurement, and reporting.
• Knowledge of the MEP pre-construction process (design, approval, commercial)
