Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial and financial management of fire protection projects. This is a pivotal role that combines strategic oversight, contract administration, procurement, and financial reporting. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project profitability, compliance, and successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor quantity surveyors across multiple projects.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, valuations, and cash flow.
- Administer contracts (JCT, NEC), variations, and final accounts.
- Oversee procurement and subcontractor management.
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks.
- Produce commercial reports and support audits.
- Contribute to business development and tendering strategies.
- Ensure compliance with construction law and fire safety regulations.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Construction Economics.
- 5+ years’ experience in fire protection or related construction fields.
- Proficiency in commercial software (e.g., Candy, CostX, Excel).
- Strong knowledge of NEC, JCT contracts and construction law.
- Experience in social housing, high-rise residential, or public sector projects.
- Passive fire protection systems and materials.
- Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Regulations, and relevant standards (e.g., BS 476, BS EN 1366).
