Senior Project Manager – Campus Development
Salary £55,457 – £64,262 plus exceptional pension and annual leave

The University of Huddersfield is seeking to recruit a Senior Project Manager to join its Campus Development Team.

The Estates and Facilities Services are instrumental in ensuring facilities offered by the University of Huddersfield to students, staff and visitors are first class, and that Huddersfield maintains its strong financial position within the top ten of mainstream universities and has an academic estate that is rated within the top 10% in the UK.

The University has ambitious plans for its estate, demonstrating this with the development of the National Health Innovation Campus, which hopes to bring students and visitors into Huddersfield town centre and help develop the next cohort of health professionals. This exciting new £75m capital project, is currently on site (Daphne Steele Building) with Planning Permission for another 65,000m2 of space, with Phase 2, a Health Partnership Building planned for delivery in September 2025.  It will be a transformative project for the people of the region, which will improve health outcomes and lead innovation in healthcare for the North of England.

The Senior Project Manager will lead the delivery of these major capital projects and long-term maintenance programmes. The role will have responsibility for ensuring the quality of design, commercial and contract management and the management of external partners.  Projects vary from minor works and complex refurbishments through to major redevelopment and new build schemes. The role also gives the chance for an individual to gain leadership experience, with responsibility for leading and managing the Projects team.

We are seeking an individual with demonstrable experience of leading on mid to large-scale capital projects across technically complex estate portfolios, alongside managing minor works, with high emphasis placed on project delivery, cost management, and timely project completion and handover.  The role calls for an individual with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, given the diverse array of stakeholders involved in delivering high profile projects across the University campus.
The University of Huddersfield offers a fantastic benefits package including a generous pension scheme and annual leave entitlement, hybrid working, relocation support, access to campus amenities and much more.
