Senior Estimator- Construction

Location: East London (E16)

Contract Type: Full- Time
 

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to lead the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for passive fire protection systems and related services. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in estimating, a deep understanding of fire safety regulations, and experience in social housing or similar sectors.

You’ll play a key role in bid strategy, cost planning, and tender submissions—working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure compliant, cost-effective, and timely proposals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor estimators and junior estimators.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities.
  • Review tender enquiries and coordinate bid submissions.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
  • Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and technical reviews of tender documents.
  • Manage time effectively to meet submission deadlines.
  • Support business development and client engagement activities.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in passive fire protection or related construction fields.
  • Proven track record in estimating and tendering for fire protection or remediation projects.
  • Experience with social housing, high-rise residential, or public sector projects.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Candy, CostX, Bluebeam).
  • Strong understanding of M3NHF Schedule of Rates.
  • Familiarity with NEC and JCT contract forms.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and fire strategy drawings.
