Senior Estimator- Construction

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to lead the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for passive fire protection systems and related services. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in estimating, a deep understanding of fire safety regulations, and experience in social housing or similar sectors.
You’ll play a key role in bid strategy, cost planning, and tender submissions—working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure compliant, cost-effective, and timely proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor estimators and junior estimators.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities.
- Review tender enquiries and coordinate bid submissions.
- Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and technical reviews of tender documents.
- Manage time effectively to meet submission deadlines.
- Support business development and client engagement activities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or equivalent.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in passive fire protection or related construction fields.
- Proven track record in estimating and tendering for fire protection or remediation projects.
- Experience with social housing, high-rise residential, or public sector projects.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Candy, CostX, Bluebeam).
- Strong understanding of M3NHF Schedule of Rates.
- Familiarity with NEC and JCT contract forms.
- Ability to interpret architectural and fire strategy drawings.
