Senior Executive Director – Health, Safety & Wellness (HSW)
Role Overview:
The Senior Executive Director – Health, Safety & Wellness (HSW) is a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping and driving the HSW agenda across all business units. As a client-side leader, you will oversee HSW governance, strategy, and innovation while ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of safety excellence and proactive risk management across project delivery, asset management, and contractor engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Define and implement a comprehensive HSW strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
- Ensure governance frameworks and policies are effectively deployed across all business units.
- Champion a proactive and safety-first culture across the organization.
- Engage with executive leadership, regulators, and key stakeholders to influence and drive HSW initiatives.
2. Project Delivery & Development
- Provide strategic oversight of HSW management throughout project lifecycles, from inception to completion.
- Establish and maintain high safety performance standards across all client-side functions.
- Drive innovation in safety through the adoption of digital and smart safety solutions.
3. Pre-Construction & Design Safety
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to embed safety in design principles.
- Ensure early-stage risk assessments and safe construction methodologies are integrated.
- Promote sustainable and ergonomic design solutions that enhance workplace wellness.
4. Contractor & Supply Chain Engagement
- Develop and maintain robust HSW engagement models with contractors and supply chains.
- Drive early risk identification and mitigation strategies in contractor selection and project planning.
- Ensure alignment of contractors with corporate HSW policies and continuous performance improvement.
5. Asset & Estates Management
- Develop and implement HSW strategies for both new and existing assets.
- Oversee occupational health and wellness programs within managed estates.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards across facility management operations.
6. Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and respond to evolving regulatory changes, industry trends, and best practices.
- Implement continuous improvement programs through audits, safety training, and knowledge-sharing.
- Develop robust incident reporting and learning systems to enhance proactive risk management.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 25+ years of leadership experience in HSW within construction, infrastructure, or asset management sectors.
- Demonstrated success in managing safety at a corporate level, including pre-construction and project delivery.
- Strong understanding of global safety standards, legislation, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience engaging with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
