Senior Construction Director, Earthworks
We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Director, Earthworks to join a major infrastructure program in Saudi Arabia. This confidential role involves overseeing significant scopes of work within the earthworks, bulk soil and rock movement (excavation, grading and completion) program. Reporting to the Executive Director, Earthworks and Roads and responsible for a team of 70 direct staff, the role requires strong leadership, strategic execution, and the ability to inspire high-performance teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strong, inspirational leadership to project teams, motivating and driving a high-performance culture.
- Develop and execute clear, accurate, and integrated project plans to meet time, cost, and quality objectives.
- Manage senior resources and oversee the delivery of significant scopes within the program.
- Foster a culture of excellence through continuous feedback, recognition, and rewarding exceptional performance.
- Utilize forecasting, cost management, and financial/cash management systems effectively.
- Provide regular updates to the Leadership Team and Executive Director on project performance and contract status.
- Collaborate with the Development Team to fully understand scope, risk, and integration requirements.
- Work proactively with procurement, project execution, and planning/project control teams to ensure safe and successful delivery of works.
- Support contractors and project teams to achieve key milestones and objectives.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Extensive experience in project leadership and execution within large-scale infrastructure programs.
- Strong capability in managing complex scopes and senior resources.
- High-level proficiency in forecasting, cost management, and IT systems.
- Exceptional communication skills, ensuring clarity and focus across all forms of communication.
- Proven ability to inspire teams and create a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Familiarity with Tier 1 contractors or experience managing Tier 1 contractors is essential.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in delivering large infrastructure projects, specifically in roads and highways. Experience in managing senior-level resources and driving excellence in project execution is essential. A proactive and collaborative approach, combined with technical expertise, is critical to success in this role. The ideal candidate will carry a minimum of 15 years’ experience acting in a leadership capacity.
