Job Title: Safety Manager – Factory Construction Projects

Job Overview:

The Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all safety protocols and procedures on factory construction projects. This role is crucial to ensuring that all construction activities are conducted in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company safety standards. The Safety Manager will work closely with project teams to identify potential hazards, develop risk mitigation strategies, and foster a culture of safety across all project sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Program Development:

    • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and procedures specific to factory construction projects.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, local, and company safety regulations.
    • Regularly update safety protocols to reflect the latest industry standards and regulatory changes.
  • Risk Assessment and Management:

    • Conduct thorough risk assessments for all project phases, identifying potential hazards and implementing appropriate controls.
    • Lead safety audits and inspections to ensure that construction activities adhere to safety standards.
    • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Training and Education:

    • Develop and deliver safety training programs for all construction personnel, including subcontractors, to promote a culture of safety.
    • Ensure that all site workers are adequately trained in safety practices and emergency procedures.
  • Compliance and Reporting:

    • Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
    • Prepare and maintain detailed records of safety inspections, audits, training sessions, and incident reports.
    • Provide regular safety performance reports to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Emergency Response:

    • Develop and implement emergency response plans for construction sites, including evacuation procedures and first aid protocols.
    • Coordinate with local emergency services and ensure all staff are trained in emergency response procedures.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:

    • Work closely with project managers, construction teams, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure safety measures are integrated into all project activities.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters on the project site.
  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in safety performance by analyzing trends, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing best practices.
    • Lead initiatives to improve safety awareness and engagement across all project teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA certification, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in factory construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, local safety laws, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement effective safety strategies.
  • Proficient in safety management software and reporting tools.
  • Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
