Job Title: Project Manager – Compliance/ Statutory

Company Overview: A leading construction firm specializing in industrial building projects. With a strong presence in Johor, we are committed to delivering high-quality construction solutions while adhering to local regulations and standards. We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Project Manager to join our team and lead our projects to success.
Job Summary: We are looking for a seasoned Project Manager who is either an experienced local architect or engineer with extensive knowledge and experience dealing with all relevant authorities in Johor. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the construction industry, strong project management skills, and the ability to navigate local regulations and requirements to ensure smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resources, and risk management strategies. Ensure projects are executed according to these plans.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with local building codes, zoning laws, and other regulatory requirements in Johor. Coordinate with local authorities for necessary permits and approvals.
  • Stakeholder Management: Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and successful project delivery. Manage client expectations and provide regular project updates.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage project teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals. Foster a collaborative and productive working environment.
  • Quality Control: Implement and oversee quality control procedures to ensure all work meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, control costs, and ensure financial targets are met. Prepare and present financial reports to senior management.
  • Problem Solving: Identify potential issues and implement solutions promptly to keep projects on track and within budget.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a project management role.
  • Proven experience dealing with local authorities in Johor, including obtaining necessary permits and approvals.
  • Strong understanding of local building codes, zoning laws, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and other relevant tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
