The University of Reading is seeking to recruit a Project Lead who will play a key role in the delivery of its Capital Project 5 year Estates Strategy programme; one of our key ambitions is to continuously invest in providing first-class facilities for our students.

The University of Reading has been at the forefront of UK Higher Education for nearly a Century.  We are a global university that enjoys a world-class reputation for teaching, research and enterprise.  Key to the University’s success is its estate portfolio – the campuses in Reading and Henley have regularly been voted the best university green space in the UK serving over 19,000 students and nearly 4,000 staff.

Reporting to the Projects Director, the Project Lead will be responsible for managing a portfolio of projects, including the supervision of consultant project managers and design teams. We are seeking an individual who would relish the opportunity to deliver a full range of capital, maintenance and departmental funded projects across the University’s estate portfolio. Projects include refurbishment and maintenance schemes for a diverse range of properties including research facilities, teaching facilities, listed buildings, social and recreational space, commercial space, and public realm areas, ranging from less than £500k to up to circa £5m in value.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a client-side project lead role, with full responsibility for managing projects from inception to completion, for a leading University located in a picturesque campus setting, as part of a friendly, supportive and professional team.
