The Natural History Museum is seeking to appoint a Project Director to lead a £180m investment programme, to deliver a new science, collections, and digitisation centre at Thames Valley Science Park. 

The new 30,000sqm centre will house 28 million specimens and will see the creation of new laboratories, digitisation suites, collaborative research spaces, computing labs, conservation labs and workspaces. The project is majority funded by a major investment from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport as part of a UK government-wide priority to increase investment in research and development. The Project Director will lead this high-profile scheme from brief development and design through to construction and successful delivery.

As part of the investment programme, the Project Director will also lead the refurbishment of collections spaces in the iconic South Kensington site of the Museum, and oversee the disposal of the existing site. 

Candidates for this role will have a proven track record of leading and managing large scale complex projects in excess of £100m in value and of a technically complex nature. Experience of leading the planning, design, construction and handover of major projects is essential and would suit experienced project/programme directors, capable of leading large scale, technically complex projects in a campus environment in the science, academic or healthcare sectors.
