REM is seeking an exceptional individual to join the company as an Operations Director.
As the Operations Director, you will play a pivotal role, combining strategic vision with hands-on leadership to oversee the operations of this complex organisation with high-profile assets. Collaborating closely with the senior management team, including asset, development, and finance directors, you will be responsible for property management, building operations, capital investment, and the implementation of the company ESG strategy.
This is an opportunity to join a small yet highly skilled team of 50 professionals, managing substantial assets and ensuring the delivery of exceptional operational services. Your expertise in operational strategy, team leadership, and high-quality service delivery will be critical in driving the success of REM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all asset and estate operational activities, including property management, lease obligations, building and facilities management, health and safety, and security.
- Develop and implement the future facilities and property management strategy, aligned with the REM business objectives and encompassing capital improvements and ESG requirements.
- Collaborate with finance to establish exemplary service charge recovery, budgeting, and reporting systems across the entire asset portfolio.
- Oversee the management of outsourced support services, ensuring value creation for each asset through effective procurement and monitoring.
- Negotiate service contracts across the portfolio to optimise cost savings and provide consistent, high-quality services to occupiers.
- Implement risk management practices, including business continuity planning and insurance, to safeguard operational activities.
- Drive operational performance, ensuring a focus on quality and value for money.
- Prepare relevant reports and contribute to business model planning.
- Lead the continuous improvement of technology within the assets.
- Oversee the mobilisation and opening of completed developments.
- Manage and mentor a team, setting standards, fostering staff development, and ensuring succession planning.
- Act as an authorised signatory for the business.
