Job Title: MEP Project Manager – Data Centre
Location: Johor, Malaysia
Overview
MRG Asia are representing a leading construction company specializing in the construction of Data Center projects. They are seeking a talented MEP Manager to join their team and play a key role in the construction of next-generation data centers.
Job Overview:
As the MEP Project Manager for Data Centre Construction, you will be responsible for overseeing all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) aspects of their data center projects from inception to completion. You will collaborate closely with project management team, subcontractors, and clients to ensure that MEP systems are designed, installed, and commissioned to the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination:
- Lead the MEP planning process, including the development of project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Coordinate MEP activities with other construction disciplines to ensure seamless integration and workflow efficiency.
- Review project plans and specifications to identify MEP requirements and constraints.
Design Management:
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to develop MEP design solutions that meet project objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Review and approve MEP design drawings, specifications, and submittals.
- Conduct value engineering analyses to optimize MEP systems for cost-effectiveness and performance.
Procurement and Vendor Management:
- Oversee the procurement of MEP materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and negotiate contracts to achieve favorable terms and conditions.
- Monitor vendor performance and enforce compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
Construction Oversight:
- Provide on-site leadership and supervision to MEP subcontractors and construction teams.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure that MEP installations adhere to approved designs, codes, and safety regulations.
- Address technical issues, conflicts, and changes in a timely and proactive manner to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
Commissioning and Handover:
- Develop commissioning plans and procedures for MEP systems, including testing, balancing, and documentation.
- Coordinate with commissioning agents and stakeholders to verify system performance and functionality.
- Facilitate the handover process by preparing operation and maintenance manuals, training materials, and as-built documentation.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in MEP roles and 3-5 years in a managerial position..
- Data Center experience is required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
