Interim Service Charge Project Manager

About the client
MRG Interim Executives are recruiting an Interim Service Charge Project Manager on behalf of a registered provider that is based in the North West.
Accountabilities
Working closely with income and finance teams, accountabilities will include: –
- Responsible for the implementation of a new Service Charge action plan/model
- Responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure service charge compliance
- Ensure integrity of service charges to all current and new housing stock
- Responsible for ensuring the service charge estimates and expenditures are accurate
- Provide guidance and advice to other members of staff on the general management of rent and service charge setting
- Respond to audit recommendations and ensure effective service charge administration
- To identify and map all costs associated with service charges and to make recommendations for the future of service charge collection
- To develop and implement effective policies and processes for service charge management
- Keep accurate record keeping of all service charge accounts (charges and collection)
- Ensure all service charge schedules are issued in a timely manner
- Communicate with internal and external customers effectively
- Ability to carry out consultation with customers in varying or implementing service charges
Candidate Requirements
- Experience in the accounting and management of service charges with detailed knowing of accounting processes relating to service charges
- Knowledge of service charges and the fundamental regulations and legal requirements around service charges Section 20 in particular
- Proven experience in working within a housing association service charge team, setting monitoring and managing service charges
- Understanding of leases, legal arrangements, tenancy agreements and other obligations
- Understanding of the associations objectives, policies and procedures and ability to apply them accordingly
- High level of ICT, Literacy and Numeracy with excellent knowledge of spreadsheets, data base programmes and Office 365
