About the client
On behalf of a leading University, MRG Interim Executives are recruiting an Interim Head of Programmes to deliver a major capital programme.

Accountabilities
Working closely with the Executive team across a diverse estate, accountabilities will include: –

  • Provide leadership for the programme set-up for a major capital development programme including new-build construction, refurbishments, expansions and adaptations
  • Define programme governance including PMO, programme administration, frameworks and controls
  • Responsible for ensuring programmes and multiple projects are running effectively and in accordance with quality, time and budgetary restraints
  • Ensuring project performance and deliverables are consistently met
  • Provide financial oversight and management of budgets within the capital programme
  • Management of internal and external stakeholders
  • Provision of business cases for future capital development schemes
  • Provide reports to the executive team
  • Contribute to the University’s ambitious estates strategy

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience within a senior programme capacity
  • Recognised professional membership such as MRICS/MCIOB
  • Project management qualification such as MAPM (Membership of the Association for Project Management)
  • Strong understanding of programme governance including PMO, controls, administration and frameworks
  • Experience gained within a public sector estate
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to present to a variety of audiences
