The Children’s Trust is seeking to appoint to the post of Head of Health & Safety to be based at the organisation’s campus estate in Tadworth, Surrey.

The Children’s Trust is the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury. We are unique, with an international reputation for the work we undertake to improve the lives of the children and families with whom we work. We provide information and support to thousands of children with brain injury and their families annually, through education, care, therapy and research. We provide expertise and experience in meeting the needs of children and young people with acquired brain injury, neuro-disabilities and complex health needs.

The Head of Health and Safety will set the organisational strategy for health and safety; lead and develop the integrated health and safety management system and provide strategic support to the leadership team. The Head of Health & Safety is the lead and designated person for all health and safety matters, including fire safety and underpinning the Trust’s three key work streams: “safe care,” “safe workplace” (including occupational health and well-being), and “safe retail and (fundraising) events”.

Reporting to the Head of Estates and Health & Safety, this is a key appointment, ensuring that the critical and complex estate remains safe and compliant for its children, young people and team members.  

We are looking for an experienced leader, with a proven track record of delivering a comprehensive health and safety provision successfully, to lead and develop the strategic direction of fire, health, safety management across a diverse, complex organisation.  With a background and professional qualification in the health and safety industry, you will possess a proven track record of delivering health and safety management initiatives that drive organisational change and performance improvement.
