Head of Business Operations – Iconic Property Development & Asset Management Portfolio

Real Estate Management (UK) Limited (REM) is a leading property development and asset management organisation, specialising in premium London assets. They currently manage an investment portfolio comprising 1.9 million sq ft of premium lettable space in multi-use assets and a £320 million development pipeline. Their assets under management include Western Europe’s tallest building – The Shard, The News Building, The Retail Arcade, Shard Place at Shard Quarter, Park House in North Mayfair and 48 Pall Mall in St James’s.

They are seeking a Head of Business Support who will be responsible for providing invaluable expertise to the executive management committee. Reporting directly to the Financial Director, your primary focus will revolve around refining and ensuring the precision of documented policies and procedures, collaborating closely with teams across Finance, Property Management, and Construction.

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Responsible for REM corporate and business administration including company secretarial duties, accreditations, risk management, insurance, data protection and information governance.
  • Leadership in Corporate and Real Estate Insurance: Drive strategies for cost-effectiveness in alignment with market conditions.
  • Policy Documentation and Procedure Tracking: Ensure meticulous documentation of policies and procedures, establishing tracking mechanisms company wide.

Qualifications and Experience

Professional Qualification
A recognised associate in law, accounting, or surveying.

Experience
Demonstrable career progression in governance-focused organisations.
Proven expertise in complex transactional environments, ideally with international investors.

Key Track Record:

Governance and Quality Processes
Background in managing IT projects and collaborating with external consultants and legal advisors.

Transactional Expertise
Significant experience in transactionally intensive businesses, delivering complex process documentation and data management programs.

Value Enhancement
Successful track record in optimising value and performance from diverse commercial and corporate insurance portfolios.

Desired Background
 

  • Experience within private legal entities or the private property sector preferred.
  • Exposure to transactionally intensive environments backed by international investors highly valued.
