Job Title: MEP Resident Design Engineer for Data Centre Building Construction

Location: Kuala Lumpur

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Resident Design Engineer with specialized expertise in data center building construction projects. As an integral member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of MEP design and implementation to ensure the successful completion of our data center projects.

Responsibilities:
1. MEP Design Leadership: Lead the MEP design process for Data Centre building construction projects, including conceptual design, detailed design development, and construction documentation.
2. Collaboration: Work closely with architects, structural engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into overall building design, ensuring functionality, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
3. Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise in the design and selection of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, plumbing, and other critical infrastructure components specific to Data Centre facilities.
4. Quality Assurance: Review and evaluate MEP design drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project objectives and regulatory requirements.
5. Construction Oversight: Oversee MEP installation and construction activities on-site, conducting regular inspections to verify adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols.
6. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve MEP-related design issues, conflicts, and challenges that may arise during the construction phase, coordinating with the project team and external consultants as needed to implement effective solutions.
7. Cost Control: Monitor MEP project costs, budgets, and schedules, identifying opportunities for cost savings, value engineering, and optimization without compromising quality or performance.
8. Commissioning and Testing: Coordinate MEP commissioning, testing, and validation activities to ensure systems operate as intended and meet performance criteria, collaborating with contractors, vendors, and commissioning agents as required.
9. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of MEP design changes, approvals, and as-built drawings throughout the project lifecycle, generating progress reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders as needed.
10. Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to data center MEP design and construction, actively seeking opportunities to enhance knowledge, skills, and processes within the organization.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or related field). Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 -10 years of experience in MEP design and engineering, with a focus on data center projects.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced construction environment.
