Job Overview:

We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Development Director to focus on Build to Rent (BtR) projects. This pivotal role will focus on acquiring, planning, and delivering large-scale residential schemes within the BtR sector, overseeing projects from conception through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Project Leadership: Oversee the full development cycle for BtR schemes, from identifying and acquiring suitable sites through to design, planning, construction, and delivery.
  • Site Acquisition and Feasibility: Lead the acquisition of sites for BtR schemes, working closely with the land acquisition team to assess viability and secure prime opportunities.
  • Investor and Stakeholder Management: Cultivate and manage relationships with institutional investors, joint venture partners, and stakeholders to secure funding and ensure project success.
  • Project Delivery: Manage large-scale BtR projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Strategic Growth: Shape and implement a long-term development strategy for BtR schemes, identifying future opportunities for expansion.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to project teams, ensuring all aspects of development align with business goals and stakeholder expectations.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Extensive experience in Build to Rent or residential property development, with a proven track record of delivering large-scale projects.
  • Strong network within the property investment, planning, and development sectors, with the ability to secure off-market deals.
  • Expertise in the acquisition and planning process, with an eye for identifying viable BtR opportunities.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-phase developments, from land acquisition through to construction and asset management.
  • Commercially minded with a strategic vision for expanding a BtR portfolio.
