Our trusted client is a regional leader in the main contractor / general contractor sector. Known for delivering iconic buildings in Southeast Asia, and has been involved in mission-critical projects such as Data Centers, industrial facilities, and advanced manufacturing plants around the region.
The role
They are looking for a Data Center construction lead to take ownership of the end-to-end execution of Data Center construction projects. The role involves overseeing project planning, execution, stakeholder coordination, and compliance, ensuring every project meets its objectives in timeline, budget, quality, and safety.
Key responsibilities
Project leadership
- Lead and manage the full lifecycle of Data Center construction projects, from design coordination to handover and commissioning.
- Oversee multidisciplinary teams comprising consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and delivery.
Planning & execution
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and risk management strategies.
- Ensure strict compliance with local regulations, safety requirements, and client specifications throughout all project stages.
Stakeholder engagement
- Act as the main liaison between clients, consultants, and vendors to maintain alignment and transparency.
- Foster effective communication and resolve issues promptly to keep the project on track.
Quality & performance
- Champion continuous improvement across project delivery, safety, and operational performance.
- Track and evaluate project KPIs to ensure adherence to contractual and performance standards.
Qualifications
- At least 20 years of experience in construction project management, with 3+ years or more in Data Center or mission-critical facility projects.
- Demonstrated success in leading large-scale, complex construction projects across Southeast Asia.
- Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems, commissioning, and Data Center standards such as uptime institute or the equivalent.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- PMP certification or an equivalent credential is advantageous.
- Having hyperscale Data Center experience is required.
- An engineering degree / advanced diploma is a prerequisite for this role.
