Tunbridge Wells Borough Council is seeking to make the appointment to the vital role of Corporate Property Manager.
Package: £69,862 – £75,892 (starting salary: £69,862)

The Corporate Property Manager is responsible for leading on all aspects of the Council’s property assets – providing high level strategic and innovative advice to ensure effective running of the portfolio whilst creating maximum return on investment.

The Council’s portfolio is valued in excess of £103m comprising investment, operational and community assets, with a number of additional, high profile developments underway.

Reporting to the Head of Economic Development and Property, the Corporate Property Manager will lead the function towards a more innovative approach, ensuring that the Council’s property strategy is aligned with that of key partners (public and private sector), to deliver increased value for money from the use of assets and to develop innovative property solutions for the Council. The appointed individual will be the subject matter expert within the Council for all property and estate related matters including: acquisition, disposals, planned maintenance, project delivery, professional services and property asset management.

As a senior member of the team, the successful candidate will have a proven track record in a senior property or estates management role, working across a complex property portfolio at a comparable organisation. A highly commercial approach teamed with an understanding of the overall ambitions of the organisation and strong stakeholder engagement skills are vital to success in the role. With responsibility for a team of property professionals, the Corporate Property Manager will ensure effective delivery of the strategy through people, whilst acting as a mentor and assisting with their continued career development.

This appointment offers the opportunity to take ownership and be directly responsible for leading the continued evolution and decarbonisation of the Council’s estate portfolio and leaving a lasting impact on the Borough.
