Construction Manager

Our client, one of the top five Tier One main contractors, is seeking an accomplished Construction Manager to oversee the delivery of a landmark infrastructure development in Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Assume full responsibility for day-to-day site management, ensuring that works are executed in accordance with approved design, specifications, schedule, and budget.

• Programme Management: Develop, monitor, and control the construction programme to achieve milestones and completion targets. Anticipate and mitigate potential delays through proactive planning and resource management.

• Stakeholder Interface: Act as the primary point of contact for client representatives, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams, ensuring effective communication and alignment of objectives.

• Resource Allocation: Lead the deployment of labour, plant, and materials across work fronts to maximise productivity and maintain cost efficiency.

• Quality Assurance: Enforce strict adherence to international quality standards and company procedures, implementing robust inspection and testing regimes.

• Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with HSE regulations and company policies. Proactively manage risk, lead safety briefings, and conduct audits to achieve zero-incident performance.

• Contract & Commercial Awareness: Monitor project budgets, support commercial teams with claims and variations, and ensure compliance with contract requirements.

• Team Leadership: Mentor and develop site engineers, supervisors, and other staff, fostering a collaborative environment and driving a culture of performance excellence.

  Reporting: Provide accurate and timely reports on progress, risks, resource utilisation, and cost forecasts to senior management and the client.

Candidate Profile

• Experience: Minimum 15 years of progressive construction experience, with at least 5 years in a Construction Manager role on major civil or infrastructure projects (highways, bridges, metro, airports, utilities, or large-scale urban developments).

• Background: Proven track record with Tier One main contractors on complex, large-scale projects in the GCC or other international environments.

• Technical Competence: Strong understanding of modern construction methodologies, digital engineering tools, project scheduling software (Primavera P6 preferred), and contract management systems.

• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead diverse, multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

• Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline. Chartership or professional accreditation is an advantage.

• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills; ability to resolve conflicts and maintain strong working relationships.
