About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Fire Protection Surveyor – Technical Assistant to join our team. This role involves conducting surveys of passive fire protection systems, identifying compartmentation breaches, and recommending compliant remedial solutions. You’ll work across a variety of building types—both occupied and unoccupied—and contribute to technical reporting, documentation review, and solution development.

This is a safety-critical role offering the opportunity to support regulatory compliance, improve fire safety standards, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed surveys of firestopping and compartmentation systems.
  • Identify breaches and assign appropriate remedial solutions.
  • Document findings with photographs, drawings, and structured reports.
  • Use digital platforms (e.g., OneTrace, Bolster, Auditform) for survey data.
  • Liaise with manufacturers to verify product compatibility.
  • Support pricing and programming with accurate quantities and access notes.
  • Assist in reviewing survey outputs and managing documentation workflows.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and compliance tracking.
  • Interpret Fire Risk Assessment reports to support planning (desirable).

What You’ll Bring

Qualifications & Experience:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Passive Fire Protection or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in compartmentation surveying and fire protection inspections.
  • Familiarity with firestopping systems (e.g., batt and mastic, intumescent wraps, collars).
  • Strong knowledge of Approved Document B, BS 9999, BS 8644, and manufacturer protocols.
  • Experience with digital survey/reporting platforms.
  • Valid SMSTS and First Aid at Work (or willingness to obtain).
  • IPAF and PASMA training preferred.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
