My client, a leading engineering consultancy are currently seeking a Commercial Officer to join their team.
The role can mostly be undertaken remotely from home with travel to offices in Bristol, Cheltenham, London or Aldershot up to twice per month. The salary is up to £48,000 depending on experience.
About the role
You will provide advice and analysis of commercial risks in the business, commercial sales and procurement guidance, as well as assessing all bids and contracts, providing drafting and leading negotiations as required. Other duties include – drafting and checking a range of agreements, analysis and negotiation of contract terms and conditions, reviewing and approving proposal, prime and sub-contracts, developing the commercial element of a bid and influencing early bid strategy, providing commercial support throughout contract delivery, providing input to approval processes, training non-commercial staff in commercial and procurement issues and developing commercial processes and procedures.
About you
You must be experienced in sales and / or procurement commercial management and be willing to work in both fields. Previous experience of negotiating complex contract terms and analysing and drafting contractual wording is essential. You must be able to work to multiple deadlines under pressure and be able to effectively build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. A degree in law / business studies / engineering / science / technology or similar is essential. It would be desirable for applicants to have a good grasp on contract law, knowledge of contractual documents including NDAs, sub and prime contracts and MOUs and knowledge of ITAR, however this isn’t essential. This role may require you to pass a security clearance.
