About the role

The Management Recruitment Group are proud to be partnering exclusively with our client, an efficient and polished multinational British Plc, operating in a developing nation, for the appointment of Finance Manager.

Background

A minimum of 10 years’ experience having worked for a main contractor (EPC environment), as well as having worked in Saudi Arabia is paramount.  The successful incumbent will need to co-ordinate the project’s insurance coverage and provision of Bonds and guarantees in line with the requirements of the project.

Key Accountabilities

You will be responsible for:

Providing successful management of the Finance Team and all Project financial activities using agreed systems to ensure successful operational and process management.

Compiling the Project financial, statutory and tax reports, ensuring deadlines are met and reported results are accurate.

Understanding the budget and forecasts, liaising with all relevant staff when the differences are not explained or notified.

Streamlining management reporting to highlight any issues and delivering promptly.

Responsible for account receivables/payables, preparing monthly invoices and working capital across the Project, assessing, and recommending corrective actions as required.

Monitoring control of capex proposals against capital expenditure approval.

Engaging with the Employer to ensure timely payment for work done.

Co-ordinating internal and external audit activities.

You will need to be:

Accurate, compliant and have the ability to run a tight ship!

A strong leader, with academic rigour who scrutinises the numbers, and has an excellent understanding of accounting standards.  A person who can encourage problem-solving with staff.

A hands-on financial controller with high EQ, who has advanced Excel skills.

The Finance Manager is responsible for the overall financial health of the Project, working with Project and Group stakeholders to ensure the timely and accurate production of financial reports as well as developing strategies and plans for the long-term financial goals of the Project.

Participating in Continual Process Improvement (LEAN) to improve efficiency in area of work, contributing to the efficiency of the Project Execution Plan.

Background, Skills, and Qualifications

  1. Accounting degree or equivalent, possessing membership in an accounting body (Chartered Accountant) – ACA/ACCA qualification with equivalent education, training, and work-related experience.
  2. Experience managing profit/loss statement and compiling daily/weekly and monthly financial statements.
  3. In-country experience essential.
