Imperial College London is seeking to recruit a procurement professional to play a leading role in the delivery of the College’s £multi-million estates capital investment programme.

Consistently rated amongst the world's best universities, Imperial College London is a science-based institution with a reputation for excellence in teaching and research.  Imperial has one of the largest and most diverse university estate portfolios in the country with over 500,000 sqm of space and the College is currently investing in a large-scale capital programme focused on further developing and enhancing the estate.

The Category Manager role is part of the procurement department within the Finance Division that has responsibility for leading and managing all procurement activities across College including the co-ordination, letting, management, and monitoring of contracts.  The Category Manager (Construction) will take principal responsibility for the procurement and category management of construction related projects (new build, refurbishment, fit-out and alteration) across a range of building types, and other general operational expenditure as required.  The Category Manager’s role will be to manage and lead sourcing activities for major construction projects and delivering high quality contracts for construction works and services.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in a procurement and supply chain management role relating to the construction industry and will therefore probably have worked either for an estate owner-occupier, property company, developer or contractor.  As an integral team member, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work closely and successfully with internal colleagues as well as external stakeholders and partners.
