I am currently working with a well-known, marketing leading facilities management business who are seeking an experienced bid writer to join their team on a permanent basis.


You will be joining a well established and growing team, working on large value opportunities up to £70mil in value. My client has offices in Manchester, London and Southampton and operate a hybrid working model (1-2 days in the office per week). They are open to candidates from other locations, but you must be willing to travel to one of the office 1-2 times per month.  


Main duties

· Lead storyboard sessions with bid / proposal team members and key stakeholders

· Proactively develop and manage a network of subject matter experts

· Identify and re-work existing pre-written content where relevant

· Write persuasively, including executive summaries and other critical components of deliverables including for example case studies, CV’s and JD’s

· Manage the bid content library, ensure version control is upheld and all content always remains updated and compliant

· Produce and deliver completed written proposal responses to the Bid Lead against agreed RFP deadlines, escalating issues as required

· Re-write and edit proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, marketing, technical teams, finance, commercial, legal and operations

· Ability to coach sales teams and subject matter experts in writing best practice

· Present all new proposal content to the Proposal Manager for potential re-use

· Provide writing guidance to authors, volume leads, and capture coordinators to ensure proposals are clear and concise

· Keep up to date with group business ventures and services, competitors, relationships with customers, clients and suppliers including market evolution

· Help identify additional opportunities by getting to know client requirements

· To liaise with and network with key personnel and external clients to ensure a seamless approach to Bid Management


About you

You will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a bid writer within the facilities management sector (hard or soft services). You must have worked on large value bids from £10m+ and be comfortable reviewing and writing large amounts of content. Naturally you will have excellent writing and communication skills, but my client would also like someone with a creative flair who can really make their content stand out from the crowd. High attention to detail, strong editing and proofreading skills and an organised approach is essential. Demonstrated experience in computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), InDesign, E-mail, Internet and databases is also required.
