London Met is an extraordinary institution. Equity and social inclusion have always been our driving principles, and it's what makes the University so unique. Our organisation is distinctive, both in its eclectic and diverse community of students and staff, and also for its historical role in serving some of London's most deprived boroughs. Everything we do is underpinned by our philosophy that an individual should have the opportunity to transform their life through the power of education. Equipping our students with the tools for their future is at the heart of our academic offering. We pride ourselves on providing our students with access to a wealth of opportunities and professions. Our graduates benefit personally, but also contribute their unique perspectives to society, culture, public service and the economy in all areas of London, the UK and around the world.
Now is an exciting time to be joining the University to take up this role. We launched our new Estates Strategy in 2022, which sees the University committing to bold and large-scale investments of £180 million over the next decade, to develop our buildings, physical and digital infrastructure.
Reporting to the Director of Estates, the Associate Director of Estate Operations takes leadership responsibility for a far-reaching, service-focused portfolio including hard and soft FM operations; environmental management, events, catering and hospitality; security and business continuity; sports, fitness and wellbeing; and estates business services and service excellence.
The successful candidate will possess considerable relevant experience of operating successfully in an estates and facilities leadership role, with demonstrable experience of leading hard FM provision across a complex multi-functional estate portfolio. We are seeking an individual with a highly motivated and proactive disposition and the interpersonal and communication skills to operate successfully with a diverse range of stakeholder groups, whilst leading, motivating and developing a team.
If you are inspired to join a dynamic and purposeful team and play a leading role in a period that will transform the estate and environment for our students, staff and visitors, do take a look at the candidate brochure here and contact our retained search advisors Michael Hewlett (michael.hewlett@mrgpeople.co.uk) and James Gregory (james.gregory@mrgpeople.co.uk) at MRG to arrange a briefing discussion.
Closing date for applications is 2nd July 2023.
