Position Overview:
As the Assistant Project Manager for our warehouse project, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Project Manager in all aspects of project planning, execution, and delivery. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of tasks, adherence to project timelines, and achievement of project objectives. Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Assist in developing comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation, in alignment with client requirements and company standards.
- Coordination: Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution, including subcontractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
- Progress Monitoring: Track project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement proactive measures to mitigate issues and ensure project milestones are met.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, and other relevant records, to ensure compliance with regulations and contractual obligations.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications throughout the project lifecycle, conducting regular inspections and audits as necessary.
- Communication: Facilitate effective communication among project team members, clients, and stakeholders, providing regular updates, reports, and presentations on project status, issues, and resolutions.
- Problem Solving: Identify challenges or conflicts that may arise during project execution and collaborate with the Project Manager to develop and implement effective solutions.
- Cost Management: Assist in monitoring project expenditures, reviewing budgets, and controlling costs to optimize project profitability while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Safety Compliance: Promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, ensuring that all project activities are conducted in accordance with safety protocols.
- Team Support: Provide support to the Project Manager and project team members as needed, undertaking additional tasks or responsibilities to contribute to project success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in the logistics, warehousing, or construction industry.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, such as OSHA, building codes, and environmental regulations, is preferred.
- PMP or CAPM certification is a plus.
