The University of York is seeking to recruit an Assistant Project Manager to join its Estates Development Team.

To support the realisation of the University Strategy https://www.york.ac.uk/about/mission-strategies/vision-for-york/ we have embarked on a major new investment programme in our physical and digital infrastructure, the £500m Integrated Infrastructure Plan.    This will see several seminal projects to support our Transformational Initiatives, including a new iconic Student Centre at the heart of the campus, a new home for the School of Physics, Engineering and Technology (PET), and a world-class building to accommodate the new Department of Architecture.  This investment and the associated projects will also be integral to the delivery of the University’s Sustainability Plan, achieving a pathway to net zero by 2030, https://www.york.ac.uk/about/sustainability/strategy/.

To enable the delivery of the Integrated Infrastructure Plan we are seeking to appoint to several posts within the Estates Development team.

The Assistant Project Manager will support the delivery of a diverse range of Estates Development projects that emanate from the Integrated Infrastructure Plan. The role offers a fantastic chance for an ambitious individual to gain direct experience of leading refurbishment and improvement projects across a diverse portfolio of buildings, whilst supporting the Senior Project Manager and Project Managers on major development projects.

We are seeking an individual with formative experience in a design, construction, engineering or estates role who is seeking to develop their career as a project manager. You will have excellent organisational skills, with experience of using digital technologies to progress projects. Knowledge and experience of working on projects through the RIBA stages and knowledge of construction contracts would be particularly advantageous.
