Senior Development Director – Venues

A unique opportunity to lead the design and delivery of world-class venue infrastructure as part of an ambitious destination development.
Our client, a confidential entity spearheading a large-scale mixed-use development in Saudi Arabia, is seeking a Senior Development Director – Venues to oversee the end-to-end development of major venue assets. These include stadiums, arenas, and purpose-built event infrastructure that will anchor future entertainment and sporting activities for both residents and international visitors.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the full development lifecycle for venue-related assets, from concept through to delivery, ensuring alignment with the broader masterplan and programme objectives.

Oversee feasibility, business case preparation, and commercial modelling to inform asset viability and strategic investment.

Manage multi-disciplinary consultant teams, working closely with master planners, architects, engineers, and cost consultants to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery.

Coordinate with design, delivery, and operations teams to ensure each venue is fit for purpose, commercially viable, and operationally world-class.
Candidate Profile:

Extensive real estate development experience, ideally within large-scale venue, stadium, arena, or complex mixed-use developments.

Strong commercial acumen, with a deep understanding of how venue assets contribute to overall placemaking and financial sustainability.

Proven leadership in managing cross-functional teams and complex stakeholder environments in high-pressure settings.

Ability to manage complexity across multiple concurrent workstreams with a strategic mindset and operational rigour.

International experience is highly valued; exposure to the Middle East or similarly fast-paced emerging markets is advantageous.

Bachelor’s degree in real estate, architecture, engineering, or related discipline; advanced degrees or professional certifications are a plus.
