About the Opportunity:
We are representing a prestigious PIF-portfolio company who are seeking an experienced Development Director, Retail & Mixed Use to lead a specific standalone project with a GDV of over 1bn USD. This role is critical to the successful planning, execution, and management of large-scale retail developments, ensuring they align with the strategic vision and goals of the organization. Currently at preconcept, this project is to commence concept design stage in the coming months and aims to be delivered fully within 6 years. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in retail & mixed-use development and a proven track record of delivering complex projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Vision: Provide strategic leadership to the retail development team, ensuring that all projects are executed in line with the organization’s vision and objectives.
- Project Oversight: Oversee the full lifecycle of retail development projects, from initial concept design through to construction and handover, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, and government entities, to facilitate project success.
- Market Research & Strategy: Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities, and develop strategies that optimize retail offerings and enhance the customer experience.
- Budget & Resource Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and efficient allocation of resources across all retail development activities.
- Quality Control: Ensure all retail projects meet the highest standards of quality, design, and functionality, adhering to both organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks throughout the development process and implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring project continuity.
- Reporting & Communication: Provide regular updates to senior leadership on project status, challenges, and performance metrics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Development, Architecture, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 12 years of experience in retail and mixed-use development, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing large-scale projects.
- Experience working in KSA / UAE or other GCC country is a requirement.
- Proven expertise in managing complex retail projects from inception through to completion.
- Strong understanding of the retail market, consumer trends, and development best practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in the Middle East or with large-scale retail projects is highly desirable.
